2022 Macon Film Festival Special Screening - It Ain't Over (director Sean Mullin)

An intimate portrait of a misunderstood American icon, this emotional and uplifting documentary about Yogi Berra takes us beyond the caricatures and "Yogisms," and into the heart of a sports legend whose unparalleled accomplishments on the baseball diamond were often overshadowed by his off-the-field persona.

The documentary features interviews with Berra's children, MLB legends (Derek Jeter, Joe Torre, Don Mattingly and more), Billy Crystal, Bob Costas and others. This will be the opening night film of the festival and is a free event. Space is limited.

Special Screening: Conducting Life
2022 Macon Film Festival Special Screening - CONDUCTING LIFE (director Diane Moore)

In the rarified world of classical music, the road to success is a daunting one. Especially for young conductors. CONDUCTING LIFE follows the improbable journey of Roderick Cox from his childhood in Macon, Georgia into the classical music world, as he tirelessly pursues his dream — to secure a top position with a major orchestra. Roderick’s story is about the passion, sacrifice, and courage it takes to succeed in an elusive profession with limited opportunities.

Filmed over seven years, Diane Moore's intimate portrait captures the highs and lows of award-winning conductor Roderick Cox’s quest to achieve mastery in a discipline that has traditionally overlooked artists of color.

The film's subject Roderick Cox will be in attendance at the film's screening. To learn more about the film visit: https://conductinglife.com/
